Leatherman Signal Whistle Replacement - Bit and Tweezer / Toothpick Storage

from $12.50

The Signal is one of Leatherman's best multitools. However, the "survival" attachments are worthless to most of us, at least on a day to day basis. I've designed a series of parts to make the Signal a better EDC tool for urban environments.

This particular part replaces the whistle and ferro rod with extra bit storage and a slot for a pair of tweezers or a Victorinox toothpick. This part also has the benefit of slimming down the signal a little, without the bulge of the ferro rod on the side. It just looks and feels much sleeker and more ergonomic with this replacement. I use mine to store an eyeglass screwdriver with an adapter to fit it into the standard Leatherman bit driver, as well as a pair of Victorinox tweezers. Leatherman Style tweezers fit properly as well.

This part will accommodate any Leatherman bit, but a couple of the larger bits may be a little snug. I designed a finger cutout into the part to make bit removal easier.

If you ever plan to be spending some time in the wilderness, it can easily be converted back to survival mode with a quick swap.

These pieces are designed by myself and SLS 3D printed in black nylon. If you aren't familiar with 3D printing SLS Nylon is an industrial printing process. The parts are far superior to conventional home 3D prints in terms of strength, durability, resistance to temperature extremes, UV light, impact, chemical, warping and abrasion. It also has a satisfying texture that adds grip without the obvious layer lines from home printers. In the past I made these using a resin printer, but upgraded to getting them printed for me in SLS Nylon for the sake of a superior part.

Leatherman tool and bits NOT included.
