Leatherman Charge Thumb Studs - 1 pair

$9.00

Two Leatherman Charge Thumb Studs or Thumb Bars

You will receive one for the straight blade, and one for the serrated. The openings are slightly different size on the charge.

These thumb studs are designed to fit into the blade cutout and provide easy one handed opening of the knife blade. Proper tensioning of the blade screw, and a little lubricant of your choosing (I use mineral oil or butcher block conditioner) will help with getting the blade open with a flick of the thumb. It helps to have a well broken in tool, as they get smoother with age. Practice helps too, the trick is downward pressure on the blade with your thumb bent at 90 degrees, then pop your thumb knuckle open.

The part is a press fit, and should stay put without any need for glues or adhesives. Since your blade may differ somewhat from mine, if it is a loose fit, or if you just want it to be extra secure, a tiny drop of super glue applied with a toothpick to the knife opening before inserting the thumb stud will secure it. The first time you insert it, the blade may shave the plastic. You can remove the thumb stud and clear the plastic shaving if you desire, then replace the part.

The handle side of the thumb stud features a cutaway so that it will not interfere with the locking pin on the Leatherman which prevents it from opening while the pliers are open.
